CCCS Corporate Overview

Cross-Cultural Consulting Services (CCCS) is a professional limited liability corporation based in Washington State, USA operating in the field of international development.

CCCS project work started in the late 1990s with project social impact analysis for multilateral development institutions in China. CCCS area specializations broadened in 2003 as we assisted in projects in Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. We then took a new turn in 2004, by providing specialized services for the extractive industries sector. As time passed, we built affiliations with top-tier Associates and partner institutions from across the globe and began offering services to private enterprises.

Our current work ranges from serving on social policy review teams to project-based applications, such as Social Impact Assessments and Indigenous Peoples Development and Resettlement Plans. Our clients derive from both the public and private sectors.

CCCS maintains a network of local and international social scientists and experienced social development practitioners—especially those specializing in indigenous affairs—to help our clients meet global standards for social development. Our Associates provide solutions to the challenges of implementing social policy and are dedicated to providing fair and sustainable project preparation and supervision. Coordinated by applied anthropologist Gregory Eliyu Guldin, Ph.D., our Associates have been engaged in development consultation in Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America and North America for over a decade. To help further ensure that our work is grounded in sensitivity to cultures, languages, and political environments, CCCS also partners with consulting groups based in selected countries.

At CCCS, we are committed to the idea that an informed understanding of cultural differences is essential to effective development approaches and sound business practices. To the greatest extent possible, we also advocate the inclusion of Indigenous Peoples’, women’s, and minorities’ participation on project teams.

What’s New at CCCS

• July 2010 – CCCS invited by IFC to contribute to IFC Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy Review; CCCS President Greg Guldin delivers presentation on operationalizing FPIC at IFC HQ in Washington, DC.
• May 2010 – CCCS enters into EBRD Framework Contract under ERM-London for provision of social due-diligence services.
• March 2010 – CCCS and RAIPON sign MoU for consulting partnerships in the Russian Federation.
• August 2008 – CCCS officially registers with the Asian Development Bank’s Consultant Management System (CMS).
